New York New York

Ink grids with Lazertran images.
Inspired by the matrix / grid street layout of New York and the continual activities within the city. Each square representing different ‘moments in time’ of many unrecorded activities in a complex society.
I was also influenced by some of Mondrian’s works that I saw in the New York galleries, many completed whilst he was living in New York. I became interested in the subdivision/compartmentalisation of space in time and in particular the effects on the people who inhabit New York.
